We are
Rocío & Miguel.

Two Spanish veterinary specialists, twenty years of combined experience and twenty-five thousand embryos between us. We work differently from most practices here in Germany — openly, directly, and with you in every decision.

  • 20+ years of combined reproductive medicine experience
  • 25,000+ embryos produced across Europe
  • Direct communication with Rocío or Miguel, always
At the Progeny laboratory

Equine reproduction is not just technique.
It is time, careful decisions, and, often, uncertainty.

In Germany, veterinary practices are known for being highly professional — and highly distant. We bring something different: the close, direct communication our clients tell us they have never had from another practice. We involve you in every decision. We explain every result. And we do it as Rocío and Miguel, not as an institution.

What we do —

Specialist reproductive medicine,
from first conversation to confirmed pregnancy.

Eight services. One standard: rigorous, personalised, communicated openly from start to finish.

  1. No. 01
    Keep your best mare competing

    Embryo Transfer

Collection and transfer of equine embryos on day 7–8 post-ovulation, with same-day or transported solutions across Europe.

  2. No. 02
    Breed elite genetics, no interruption

    OPU & ICSI

Ultrasound-guided oocyte pick-up followed by intracytoplasmic sperm injection. For mares in active competition who shouldn't have to choose between career and offspring.

  3. No. 03
    Maximise conception, every cycle

    Artificial Insemination

Insemination with fresh, chilled or frozen semen, with full cycle monitoring to maximise conception rates at every stage.

  4. No. 04
    Plan on your own timeline

    Embryo Freezing & Vitrification

Cryopreservation of surplus embryos for indefinite storage. Strategic planning of your breeding programme on your own pace, not the season's.

  5. No. 05
    Catch problems early

    Fertility Assessment

Comprehensive gynaecological examination, uterine culture and hormonal profiling to identify reproductive challenges before they cost you a season.

  6. No. 06
    Difficult cases, real outcomes

    Problem Mare Management

Specialist diagnosis and targeted treatment for mares with a history of reproductive failure, recurrent endometritis or poor embryo recovery rates.

  7. No. 07
A strategic partner for your programme

    Breeding Programme Advisory

Advice on programme design and reproductive management, from selection criteria to seasonal planning. We work alongside breeders to optimise results at every stage.

  8. No. 08
    Maximise your stallion's potential

    Stallion Management

Comprehensive evaluation and management of breeding stallions, including semen quality assessment, collection protocols and reproductive health monitoring.

How we work —

We involve you
in everything.

From the first conversation to the final result, you're part of every decision. That's not how most practices work here — and it's exactly what sets us apart.

  1. You reach out.

Tell us what you need. We respond quickly, in person — not with an automated reply. Every conversation starts with us listening to you properly.

  2. We plan together.

We explain every option, with realistic success rates, timelines and costs. You understand everything before we start. And you decide, with full information in front of you.

  3. We are there.

Every procedure, every result, every update. You are never left waiting or wondering. We communicate throughout — because that's how we'd want to be treated.

  4. We celebrate with you.

When it works — and with twenty years and twenty-five thousand embryos, it usually does — we feel it too. These are not just cases. We share the result.

The two of us —

Science, precision
and care. From us, to you.

We are two Spanish veterinary specialists who moved to Bavaria and built the practice we wished existed here: expert reproductive medicine with a genuinely close relationship to every client. No anonymity. No distance. Just Rocío and Miguel.

Rocío Vicioso Ezquer

More than a decade of clinical experience across Europe, specialising in embryo transfer, OPU/ICSI and advanced fertility management. Founder of Tierarztpraxis Progeny GmbH.

I want every client to feel they could pick up the phone at any moment and reach me directly. That's not how German clinics usually work, and that's exactly the point.

Our principles —

A code of ethics
we stand by

Our work is guided by a clear set of principles that put animal welfare, scientific integrity and client trust above all else. These are not marketing words. They are how we actually work, every day.

Animal welfare first

No procedure is performed if the animal shows signs of discomfort. We use individual sedation protocols and cancel any intervention that could compromise wellbeing.

EU-certified laboratory

Our laboratory meets EU Directive 92/65/EEC requirements and is subject to annual inspections by the competent veterinary authority.

Full transparency

Realistic success rates, costs and outcomes communicated openly at every stage. No hidden fees and no inflated promises.

Strict confidentiality

Client and animal data handled with absolute discretion. We never share information about your breeding programme without explicit consent.

Continuing education

We participate in international reproductive medicine conferences and research networks to keep our techniques at the forefront of the field.

Responsible breeding

We reserve the right to decline procedures that conflict with animal welfare or the ethical standards of our profession, regardless of commercial pressure.

Work with us —

A reference centre
for equine reproduction.

We don't only work with breeders. We collaborate with veterinary practices, breeding associations and research networks — and actively seek partnerships with colleagues who want to offer reproductive medicine without the infrastructure to do so themselves.

01

Breeders & stud farms

Direct work with performance horse and cattle breeders who want expert reproductive medicine, personalised attention and honest communication every season.

02

Veterinary partnerships

If your clients need reproductive medicine and you don't have the infrastructure, we can be your specialist partner. We handle the cases; you keep the relationship.

03

Associations & research

We collaborate with breed associations, national federations and research institutions on clinical projects, training and technical support.

Get in touch —

Let's talk.

Tell us about your animal and what you're looking for. We respond quickly — and it will always be one of us on the other end. Not a form reply. Not a receptionist.
